Rejected petition: How many times do we have to ask for help before someone listens

Rejected on

We want the government to introduce a legally enforceable "No wrong door" standard for mental health care across the UK, so that nobody who asks for help feels abandoned, repeatedly passed between services or is turned away without the appropriate support.

Set and enforce maximum waiting times for mental health assessments and treatments
end the cycle of being passed from service to service what this means is that services must work together so that people are not repeatedly told "you are in the wrong place" and left to start help and support all over again
End the "too well for us" gap meaning that nobody should be denied support simply because they do not fit into a service's eligibility criteria

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could ask for a review of mental health pathways that focuses on how to end the 'too well for us' gap and connection between services so people can be easily transferred to the correct place, if that is what you would like.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
