Rejected petition: Condemn the bullying of volunteers who save lives at sea.
Rejected on
Call an urgent special session of Parliament at which ALL party leaders make a clear statement condemning the online and in-person abuse of staff and volunteers involved in saving lives at sea and make plain that these actions are not acceptable in British society.
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action such as making a particular policy or passing a piece of legislation. The Petitions Committee might schedule a debate on your petition if it gathers 100,000 signatures. The debate allows MPs to discuss the proposal in the petition and related issues.
Petitions also need to be about something that the Government or Parliament are responsible for. It is for individual MPs to decide what they say in the House of Commons.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. Or you could contact your MP to share your views on this issue, to help inform their contributions in Parliament.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
