Climate change poses the greatest threat of mass extinction, but is last on the political agenda. A Joint Intelligence Report named climate collapse a national security threat - why have the government not raised this issue publicly? Our planet is our only home, but we are not it's only species.
Around 66.8% of the UK do not know the PM's views on climate change. It's frightening that protecting our planet is political. The government should do a COVID-style broadcast where they announce the crisis as a security threat and deliver public guidelines such as actively moving away from fossil fuels rather than putting blind targets like NetZero or embedding mandatory conservation into school curriculum. I'm 17 years old, and my generation must be the change we expect in our government.
