Open petition: Require environment impact assessments for all planning proposals in rural areas
Created by Helen Earp
Closes on
I would like compulsory environmental impact assessments on all rural housing development proposals to protect unique habitats and protected wildlife such as bats, badgers and dormice. I'm concerned builders are rushing through proposed housing developments without these assessments.
As an example, I have a proposed housing development to be built on farmland near my village. The farmland has established hedges, ponds and 200 year old trees. There are bats, badgers, dormouse, dears, and birds of prey in this area all this could be lost for future generations.
I would like all building proposals in rural areas to be required to have environmental impact assessments so building proposals cannot be rushed through destroying our beautiful countryside. Thank you for your support.
