Open petition: Ban children & their likeness being used to promote pornography or adult-content

Created by Sarah Linaker
Closes on

We want the Government to introduce legislation making it illegal to use children or their likeness in advertising, promotional material or social-media content to promote commercial pornography or adult-content businesses, including where the material featuring the child is not sexually explicit.

We believe there is a safeguarding gap where children, or dolls intended to represent children, can appear in otherwise non-explicit social-media content used to promote commercial adult-content businesses. Children cannot consent to such associations. We want clear legal boundaries preventing the use of children, or representations of children, to advertise or generate engagement for commercial pornography or adult content.
