Open petition: Fund early rehabilitation care for all patients after their hospital discharge

Created by Anthony James Steele Jackson
Closes on

Fund early and appropriate rehabilitation care for all patients after they are discharged from hospital, and ensure there is formal NHS, private and voluntary-sector collaboration so all available capacity is used.

Access to this care should be based on clinical need and apply equally to litigation and non-litigation cases. We believe leaving hospital should be the start of recovery, not the point where support disappears.

Delayed rehabilitation can mean lost mobility, lost independence, greater pressure on families and people never regaining abilities they might have recovered. We want the Government to fund essential rehabilitation from discharge and require the NHS, private and voluntary sectors to work together, using all available capacity, to provide care.
