Open Provide public funding for UK air ambulances

We call on the Government to provide regular public funding to air ambulances to address funding issues faced by air ambulances. At present, the only regular funding they receive is via charity donations. We believe they are a vital service.

There are 43 air ambulances in the UK, all managed by 21 individual charities. Each air ambulance charity typically operates around four critical care cars or rapid response vehicles. The average cost of deploying an air ambulance can be up to £4,750. They respond to an average of 137 life-saving missions per day.
