We think the rapid pace of frontier AI development poses severe risks to national security, public safety, and democratic stability. Industry whistleblowers warn that corporate competition drives firms to prioritise speed over safety. We believe leaving superintelligent AI in private hands without statutory oversight is as dangerous as privatising control of a nuclear arsenal. Voluntary commitments are insufficient; binding legal frameworks are urgently required.
