Rejected petition: New Pedestrian Crossing

To put in place a pedestrian crossing on a busy road that is near to 2 bus stops and a children's nursery.
The road is a 40mph speed limit and is often very busy and difficult to see when vehicles are approaching.
There would be a lot more people walking and cycling if it was safer to cross.
The most recent traffic survey was conducted in 2020 - when we were all asked to stay at home. Therefore this cannot be a representation of the traffic and speed of the vehicles that use this highway.
The local counsellor has informed me they are not planning to review and that there is no plan to assess the road in the near future.
The local nursery, bus stops, children's activity centres and businesses would benefit from increasing the safety of pedestrians and cyclists using the road.
