Open petition: Introduce a Two-Week Educational Family Holiday Allowance During Term Time

Created by Lee James
Closes on

Allow parents to take children out of school for up to two weeks during term time without fines, using holidays as educational experiences. On return, children could incorporate what they learned into the curriculum, supporting family time, wellbeing and real-world education.

Allow parents to take children out of school for up to two weeks (10 school days) during term time without fines, provided the absence is notified in advance. Holidays can provide valuable learning through different cultures, history, geography, languages and real-world experiences. On return, children could share and incorporate what they learned into suitable curriculum activities. Safeguards could apply for poor attendance and exam periods, balancing education with family time and wellbeing.
