Open petition: Require safety assessments and support for children at risk of elopement/ danger
Created by Shana Kennedy Amoh
Closes on
Require NHS services to provide a safeguarding pathway for children identified as being at risk of elopement, wandering or having limited awareness of danger, including safety assessments and appropriate preventative equipment and support for families.
Some children, including some autistic children and children with learning disabilities, may elope or have limited awareness of dangers such as roads, water and heights. Families can report these risks to health professionals but may not receive practical preventative support. We want identified risks to trigger a safety assessment and appropriate support, such as door/window alarms, window safety measures, identification aids and suitable location technology.
