Rejected petition: Cap fuel duty and prices until oil prices drop

Rejected on

The price of fuel is getting out of control service stations are charging over £2 a litre for diesel and around 170.9 in city’s for petrol, we have the North Sea and the public is on its knees filling their way of commuting up every week time to do the decent thing and help us out

As a country with oil fields still undiscovered in the North Sea we should not be paying almost £2 a litre to fill our cars up, some peoples only way to work is through car. Company’s are struggling with a fleet of work vans we cannot accept this any longer it’s time for action if you really want to win us over cap fuel prices

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

There is no suggestion in your petition of what the cap should be.

We already have a large number of petitions open on fuel duty which you may want to look at - some calling for removal or reduction of fuel duty. You may perhaps want to sign one or more of them:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
