Open petition: Review Food Security and Self Reliance Strategy. Pause not-yet-started NSIPs
Created by Joan Bassler
Closes on
We believe more must be done to protect our food security, national security and farmland. Stop large-land-take solar schemes, review lower-land-take alternatives. Prioritise UK industry, home-grown energy, and self-reliance. Safeguard our domestic food production.
In our view, at a time of geopolitical uncertainty, losing countryside to large industrial energy schemes is strategically unsound. This petition calls for Government to pause all not yet started Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects — whether already approved but not yet broken ground, or still awaiting examination — so that we can review our ability to build and maintain its own lower-land-take energy systems and safeguard domestic food production
