Legislate a mandatory "50+1" rule in professional football, requiring fans to hold 50% plus one share of club voting rights. This could give fans a democratic veto, stop reckless financial management, and ensure ticket prices remain affordable.
We believe reckless ownership threatens clubs. A German-style 50+1 model puts fans in the boardroom. A fan voting majority could help:
- Stop financial ruin
- Prioritise long-term survival over high-risk debt
- Lower ticket prices.
Fans could cap matchday & season ticket costs. Clubs are vital community assets. We believe we need a true fan democracy.
