We want the Government to introduce legislation allowing responsible adults to possess and carry approved, non-lethal self-defence devices, subject to age limits, safety standards, restrictions on where they can be carried and penalties for misuse.
People should have lawful ways to protect themselves when faced with violence. Personal alarms and whistles can alert others, but they may not provide a practical means of protection during an immediate physical attack.
We want the Government to create a strictly regulated framework for approved, non-lethal self-defence devices, with age limits, safety standards, carrying restrictions and strong penalties for misuse. Public safety must remain the priority, with expert consultation.
