Rejected petition: Protect children from abusive parents: Welfare must come before entitlement

Rejected on

Reform family courts to prioritise child safety. Stop abusers manipulating the system with temporary good behaviour or false alienation claims, and ensure genuine abuse is fully investigated

Courts and Cafcass are failing. Safe parents protecting children are wrongly labeled "alienators," while abusers weaponize fake alienation claims. Automatic contact progression must stop; currently, abusers know they can do whatever they want and get contact anyway. This failure forces victims to stay in abusive relationships to protect children from the inside, rather than leaving only for courts to hand dangerous people unsupervised access because the contact threshold is too high.
