Open petition: Review provision of fertility advice offered around an endometriosis diagnosis

Created by Macie Sinfield
Closes on

We want the Government to establish an independent review to ensure that comprehensive advice is offered consistently on how endometriosis can affect fertility. I believe people diagnosed with endometriosis who want children in the future should be offered personal fertility advice.

Endometriosis can affect fertility, but its impact varies between individuals. I believe people who want children in the future should not have to wait until they think about trying to conceive or experience difficulties conceiving before discussing their fertility. Earlier, personalised information about their fertility, even before they have been formally diagnosed, and including how their individual condition may affect their fertility and what reproductive options may be available, could help them make informed decisions about their future. Full and consistent advice about this should be available as part of endometriosis care, recognising the impact and stress a diagnosis can have on future fertility.
