Individuals and couples undergoing fertility treatment should receive the same employment protections as pregnant employees. Fertility treatment can involve medical procedures, appointments, and significant physical and emotional challenges. Like pregnant employees, those undergoing treatment should be protected from discrimination, allowed paid time off for medical appointments, and have access to reasonable workplace adjustments to support their family-building journey.
