Open petition: Reform Education and Assessment to be Accessible to Neurodivergent Students.

Created by Amina Benhammouda
Closes on

We ask the UK Government to review and reform education and assessment so they are accessible to neurodivergent students. Standardised exams and teaching do not always reflect how these students learn or demonstrate knowledge, so more flexible teaching and assessment methods should be available.

Many neurodivergent students struggle to achieve GCSEs and A-levels because standardised exams do not reflect how they demonstrate knowledge best. Some perform better through oral assessment, discussion or one-to-one supervision. Teaching should also adapt through visual, practical or discussion-based methods. We are not asking for a total overhaul, but reasonable flexibility so students can meet the same standards in accessible ways.
