Rejected petition: Hold Government to account on Timms Review promises
Rejected on
The Timms Review, despite promises made to parliament, has not been co-produced with Disabled people and our organisations. We call for a halt & reversal of cuts, and an independent review led democratically by Disabled people and our organisations, including our trade unions.
We call on the UK Government to uphold its parliamentary commitments and remedy broken promises by:
an immediate moratorium (pause) on disability cuts;
reversing cuts to UC Health & Motability;
launching a review, democratically & independently led by Disabled people and our organisations, including our trade unions.
We call on the House of Commons to reject any further welfare cuts until this remedy is in place, purely on the principle that a promise made in parliament must mean something.
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We find this unclear - we don't know exactly what promises and commitments are being referred to here - who made them, where and when, and what they were.
Nor do we know exactly which cuts affecting disabled people you are referring to.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
