Open petition: Appoint a Minister to reduce violence amongst men and boys

Created by Mr James William Pope
Closes on

Appoint a Minister for the Reduction of Violence among Men & Boys with the aim of de-normalising violence amongst men & boys. Males suffer c70% of all homicides in the UK. We believe these male victims deserve a voice in the same way as there is a minister to reduce violence against women & girls

The UK has a Minister for Safeguarding and Violence against Women and Girls, in recognition of the disproportionate impact of sexual violence on females.

However, males actually suffer most from violent crime and suffer 70% of all robberies. The majority of these crimes are committed by males. Male victims deserve a voice, help, support, and a country that will stand up for them, regardless of the fact that they may share the gender of their attacker.

We believe that by denormalising violence against males, females would be less likely to suffer from it too.
