Open petition: Make it a specific criminal offence to impersonate a member of UK Armed Forces

Created by Ethan Davies
Closes on

We want the Government to make it a specific, standalone criminal offence for anyone to pretend to serve or have served His Majesty’s Armed Forces.

This offence should include anyone gaining any financial or any type of help by pretending to have served in the Armed Forces past or present and turning up to parades wearing military medals. We believe pretending to have served in our Armed Forces is an insult to those who have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice that people are able to gain socially and monetarily off our service.
