Open petition: Stop ICB Funding Caps on Right to Choose access for Autism & ADHD Assessments
Created by Sophie North
Closes on
We ask the Government to stop Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) from imposing funding caps on Right to Choose providers until an immediate, actionable plan with strict, legally binding timescales is implemented to eliminate the assessment backlog.
Funding caps mean providers will have to cut services once limits are reached, potentially leading to years-long waits and fewer assessment options. Without an immediately actionable plan, this can leave vulnerable young people and adults in a state of uncertainty, delaying diagnoses and access to support.
Right to Choose was created to ensure fair, timely access to care. We believe that delaying this pathway does not speed up other NHS pathways for autism and ADHD diagnosis, but adds pressure to an already overloaded system.
