Rejected petition: Protect medically vulnerable people from secondhand vape exposure

Rejected on

We call on the Government to legally mandate vape-free environments across the UK. Current law leaves medically vulnerably people, like those with respiratory conditions, unable to access public transport, workplaces, or essential services without being exposed to harmful secondhand vape chemicals.

While the Government focuses on youth vaping and adult smoking cessation, they are completely neglecting medically vulnerable citizens. Under the Equality Act 2010, people with severe health conditions have a legal right to safely access public life. By leaving indoor public spaces unregulated, these individuals are forced into isolation. The UK Government must act on the substantial evidence showing that passive vaping risks the health of those with pre-existing health conditions.
