Rejected petition: Make job search websites 16+

Rejected on

Make Job searching easier for Under 18s by giving the same opportunities to find careers. This can be done by making career apps lower their age to help cater for all ages.

Moving into the future, many careers are moving to job such apps such as Indeed or Linked In. But if you are under 18, you arent allowed to use these apps due to terms and conditions. Despite the legal working age being 16 for many places. These apps should have give the same opportunities to find jobs for everyone under 18, as there is no reason they shouldnt. This will make it more fair and allow Under 18s to kickstart their future by easily finding careers.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

We believe this is matter for individual businesses or organisations as to whether they decide to aim such apps at a younger market. if you believe there is anything in law which prevents this from happening (we are not way of anything), do please start a petition asking for that law to be changed.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
