Rejected petition: Stop the Housing of Asylum Seekers in Llandudno

Rejected on

The Home Office is proposing to house single asylum seekers in HMO properties in Llandudno. We are calling on the UK Government to rule out this proposal entirely.

We object to the Home Office proposal for the following reasons:

(1) The backgrounds of the individuals is unknown
(2) There are concerns about community safety, integration and cohesion
(3) HMOs can lead to additional anti-social behaviour issues
(4) We feel that asylum seekers are being prioritised for housing over local people
(5) There are questions over the suitability of the properties
(6) We worry that this initial dispersal will be the first of many
