Open petition: Stop using public money to fund animal experiments
Created by Iain Green
Closes on
The Government must end public funding for animal experiments and instead fund the development and adoption of human-relevant, non-animal research methods. We feel this is essential to deliver the Government's Replacing Animals in Science strategy and end the suffering of animals in laboratories.
Recently released footage of dogs, primates, pigs, rats and rabbits subjected to highly invasive procedures has exposed the distressing reality of animal testing in UK laboratories.
Redirecting government investment towards cutting-edge, animal-free technologies could help establish the UK as a global leader, accelerate medical and scientific progress, and spare millions of animals from suffering.
