Rejected petition: Make cycle lanes mandatory on busy / dangerous roads.

Rejected on

Many roads, especially those near schools or town centres, can be busy, dangerous and unsafe especially for inexperienced cyclists. Cycling is a popular and important activity for people to stay healthy, physically and mentally. We ask that cycle lanes are introduced where possible on busy roads.

Many roads are unsafe and busy especially for all cyclists and there are various cases of crashes, sometimes fatal, involving cyclists. We can reduce the number of these accidents significantly by the government, where possible, introducing cycle lanes on busy and dangerous roads. This will result in a reduction in accidents and more people getting into cycling, resulting in a healthier, more active population.
