Rejected petition: To reinstate the use of Ventolin (Salbutomol) Inhalers to asthmatics.

Rejected on

To reinstate the decision of the removal of the blue Ventolin (Salbutamol) inhaler.
Many asthma sufferers have now been advised to use a combination of medication under the Maintenance and Reliever Therapy (MART) plan, where you use one combination inhaler instead putting people’s lives at risk.

Maintenance and Reliever Therapy (MART) is an asthma treatment plan where you use one combination inhaler instead of two separate preventer and reliever inhalers.
A MART inhaler has been shown to lower the risk of asthma symptoms and attacks.

This may well be the case in a lot of circumstances, however limiting people to just one blue inhaler as a back up plan does not help the asthmatic if shortness of breath or an attack occurs.
The blue Ventolin inhaler is vital and should not be removed.
