Open petition: Allow clubs and organisations to purchase & hold spare adrenaline auto-injectors

Created by Kirstie Harper
Closes on

Extend the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act to activity clubs and organisations, allowing them to purchase and keep emergency adrenaline auto-injectors (AAIs) on site, with staff training, so children or adults can receive potentially life saving treatment during anaphylaxis emergencies.

Schools can legally purchase and hold space adrenaline auto-injectors (AAIs) without a prescription to use in emergencies. However, this provision does not currently extend to activity clubs or organisations outside of school settings where snack breaks are present. We want to extend the law to these settings, so students can receive emergency treatment when needed.
