Open petition: Introduce a flexible 5-year graduate visa for international graduates
Created by Muhammad Faisal Sardar
Closes on
Create a new Graduate Visa for any international graduates who complete UK degrees and work here. They would not be allowed to move to Skilled Worker or another long-term route when Graduate permission ends.
We ask the Government to consider a regulated, fee-paying five-year route for those already lawfully in the UK and Completed there Education in the UK.
Proposed features: a £10,000 fee plus Immigration Health Surcharge and visa fees, paid by the applicant; flexible work rights not tied to one sponsor, including self-employment; eligible dependants; a minimum tax contribution of around £500 a month where income allows; and compliance monitoring.
We do not seek to reduce any group's rights. This is a request for consideration and public debate on whether an additional regulated option could benefit graduates and the UK.
