Rejected petition: Reduce Employment Tribunal delays and improve legal support for workers

Rejected on

We call on the Government to reduce Employment Tribunal waiting times and improve access to affordable or publicly funded legal advice and representation for workers who cannot afford to pay for it.

Improve access to justice for workers whose employment rights may have been breached. Reduce Employment Tribunal delays and strengthen legal support for workers enforcing statutory rights. Workers may face employers with substantial financial resources, HR departments and experienced legal teams. Employment laws should provide meaningful protection in practice, with workers able to challenge alleged breaches fairly and without waiting years for their case to be heard.
