Rejected petition: Introduce fuel duty reduction if petrol/diesel prices become exceptionally high
Rejected on
Introduce a fuel price trigger that temporarily reduces fuel duty when average UK petrol or diesel prices rise above a set threshold.
This would provide targeted relief to motorists and businesses during periods of exceptionally high fuel prices.
Millions rely on their vehicles for work, caring responsibilities and everyday life, while businesses depend on affordable fuel.
We want Government to introduce a mechanism to temporarily reduce fuel duty when average UK petrol or diesel prices exceed a set threshold.
This would provide targeted support during exceptional price rises, with normal fuel duty returning when prices fall.
