Rejected petition: National Commission to Maximise Benefits of Devolution
Rejected on
Devolution is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to reshape Democracy & fix "Broken Britain." But, maximising its enormous potential demands proper & thorough evaluation & debate, rather than partisanship. Innately integral to electoral reform, it needs its own Commission or to be included in that one.
Defusing growing political discord is becoming urgent. Devolution offers that with a once-in-a-lifetime chance to reshape Democracy & fix "Broken Britain.” Maximising the enormous potential it offers, however, cannot be a partisan effort. It demands comprehensive evaluation across the political spectrum. Realistically it needs to be considered in conjunction with electoral reform, hence my petition for a National Commission to do it justice. We owe it to ourselves and future generations.
