Open petition: Review public misinformation about ADHD and autism

Created by Nicholas Baker
Closes on

We are concerned that there is dangerous ADHD & autism misinformation spread via media and online, including scams and false claims made about medicines and supplements. We call for a review to consider whether regulation can be strengthened to hold those responsible to account and protect people.

ADHD and autism affect millions of people, yet we worry that misinformation is spreading through media and online. False claims about symptoms, diagnosis, medicines, supplements and “treatments” can exploit people seeking answers and support. We want a review to consider this and to explore whether regulation can be strengthened to better protect against scams and false health claims, improve accountability for misleading reporting, and ensure people can access accurate, evidence-based information.
