Open petition: Fund well-maintained bleed kits in places where young people live/learn & travel
Created by Marianne Alapini
Closes on
Calling on the Government to introduce a fully funded national programme providing accessible bleed kits in places where young people spend their time.
Locations should include:
Secondary schools; higher education & Uni
Community centres
Sports grounds & leisure facilities
Major transport hubs
A person can bleed to death within minutes. In a serious bleeding emergency, the period before an ambulance arrives can be critical. We are not asking for bleed-control kits to replace prevention, policing, first aid or ambulance services. It is simply an additional layer of life saving protection.
Preventing violence matters - but when an injury happens, saving the life in front of you matters too. The kits can be used for any bleed emergency so benefit the community as a whole
