Rejected petition: Ensure fairer economic policies for working taxpayers and pensioners

Rejected on

We want the Government and Parliament to reform national policies to better protect low-paid working-class taxpayers, restructure the welfare and state pension systems, and ensure political representation genuinely reflects the concerns of the British public.

Millions of low-paid workers can not afford private pensions prior to the automatic workplace enrolment in 2016 relying on the State Pension. Many face tax on amounts over the basic threshold, despite having contributed to the system for 35 to 50 yrs.

The welfare system must ensure that work always pays. Benefits should not exceed what an individual earns through employment.

IImmigration remains a central public concern, while strain is placed on public services and resources.
