We want the Government to suspend the use of AI scribing technology to generate NHS clinical notes and correspondence until independent evidence demonstrates that it is safe, accurate and reliable.

The NHS is already using AI to generate clinical letters. We are concerned they could contain errors.

Even when reviewed and approved by clinicians, we are concerned inaccuracies could go undetected and enter patient records, affecting future diagnoses, risk assessments and treatment decisions.

We call for an immediate suspension of AI scribing until independent safety assessments, strict verification and clear accountability are established.
