Open petition: Make a Staff Work Pressure Framework Mandatory Across the NHS
Created by Naomi Whiteley
Closes on
Require NHS to implement a staff work pressure framework that identifies, reduces and responds to increased work-related pressures affecting capacity, judgement, behaviour and decision-making, mandatory across the NHS, helping staff operate more clearly under pressure and improving patient safety.
NHS staff are expected to make complex decisions while carrying significant workplace and life pressures. In our view, more policies and guidance will not create safer care if staff do not have the capacity to use them clearly in the moment. This petition calls for a staff work pressure framework that identifies and reduces pressure before it affects judgement, communication, behaviour and decision-making, while also addressing the pressure staff can experience after serious incidents.
