Introduce legislation requiring all UK employers, including those in the private sector, to provide mandatory annual inflation-linked salary increases, ensuring workers’ pay keeps pace with the rising cost of living.

Inflation affects every worker, yet many private-sector employees go years without cost-of-living pay increases, reducing their purchasing power. Promotions and performance-related rises should reward achievement, not compensate for inflation. We believe all workers deserve protection against rising living costs. Mandatory annual inflation-linked pay adjustments would help ensure salaries retain their value, with carefully defined exemptions for employers facing genuine financial hardship.
