Open petition: Review penalties and enforcement of farms breaching welfare laws
Created by Talia Alkubaisi
Closes on
We want the government to review existing legal frameworks to ensure it automatically and permanently revokes relevant licenses and strips all public agricultural subsidies from any farm or corporation found guilty of systemic animal cruelty or major livestock welfare breaches.
Undercover footage from premium UK farms continues to expose horrific animal neglect and abuse. Currently, some farms breaching the law face minor fines or temporary suspensions while receiving taxpayer subsidies. Taxpayer money should never fund animal cruelty. We need a strict legal deterrent: if a farm systematically abuses livestock or deceives inspectors, they must permanently lose their right to farm and all government financial support.
