Rejected petition: Officially recognise 8 August as World Huggle Day in the United Kingdom

Rejected on

We call on the UK Government to officially recognise 8 August as World Huggle Day and encourage its annual observance as a national awareness day promoting kindness, emotional wellbeing, social inclusion and community connection.

Loneliness and isolation affect people across the UK. Huggle combines the warmth of a hug with the comfort of a snuggle, symbolising kindness, care and human connection beyond physical touch. Recognising 8 August as World Huggle Day could encourage schools, charities and communities to promote wellbeing, inclusion and stronger relationships. Through voluntary acts of kindness, we can build a society where everyone feels valued, supported and connected.
