Open Social media ban for under-13s, not under-16s

I believe banning under 16s is wrong because as a society we've adapted social media into everyday life and especially teens. I believe under 13s should be banned and over 13s could have either a curfew or parental controls enforced by parents, not the government.

Many teens under 16 have adapted social media into everyday life and so have adults. I believe banning social media abruptly would make it hard to adapt. Lots of teens have online friends that they'll lose and some teens rely on apps for a break in life or some happiness.
