Rejected petition: Keeping the UK tidy

Rejected on

We aim to urge the government to : place bins around hotspot fly toppings ,hold votes to say how much litter there is and what we have done ,organized campaigns and events for people to help pick up litter, and add more bins after a short walking distance to lower general litter.

We need to stop this before it gets worse and destroys our lovely environment which we call home. There is around 105,000 recorded fly tipping incidents around the UK. Fly tipping already costs £200,000 a year to clean up. It is hard for one person to do it but if we all come together Britain will be clean again and we can keep it that way before it is too far gone if we all work together. So please sign this petition today to reunite us all and keep Britain tidy.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

Local councils rather than the UK Government have the prime authority and responsibility in the matter of dealing with fly-tipping and other waste crimes

You may perhaps want to get in touch with your local authority or with your local councillor.

The Government does sometimes start a campaign against fly-tipping - here is recent announcement:

You may also want to contact groups who organise campaigns and litter picking, events such as Keep Britain Tidy:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
