Closed Bring in Lashing as a punishment (5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 -100 lashes) per crime

If we brought in LASHING as a punishment - we would have be effective deterent for crime
We would save billions in not sending people to jail, community service and all related costs
The punishment would be over and done with quickly, it would be lasting and would serve as a proper punishment rather than a holiday camp/detox centre the current prison and community service etc are for small to medium crimes. The public would not be complaining about longer jail terms and arguing over parol etc, and people would be scared to commit crime because of the effective deterent
This would also free up our jail for those having long term setences only and you can knock off a max of 2 yrs if you had 50 lashes. rather than parole.
