Petition Remembrance Monday Bank Holiday
More details
This petition proposes that there be a new public bank holiday on the Monday following Remembrance Sunday in November each year.
Remembrance Sunday is a day of commemoration of the sacrifice made by our armed forces and others in the defence of our country and our democracy.
Remembrance Monday should be a day of celebration for our nation, rejoicing in the freedom and democracy that has endured as a result of such sacrifice.
There is currently no public bank holiday from the end of August until Christmas Day and this holiday would fall between those dates.
