Rejected petition Keep ICT at KS4 & KS5 as discrete qualification in reforms

It has been announced without wide consultation that ministers have decided not to allow ICT to be redeveloped for GCSE and A level. This will have a detrimental affect on skills the UK needs for the future.

More details

Students will develop computational thinking skills needed for today’s economy, including coding and important information technology topics such as cyber security, networking and data storage. It is right that schools continue to focus on the digital knowledge that will best prepare young people for further study and employment. This decision will not prepare students for ICT and multimedia skills which are different.
