Rejected petition Let the people elect David Cameron's successor via a democratic process
David Cameron's resignation following the outcome of the EU referendum has given rise to a situation where the person who will be carrying out the most important negotiations in our countries modern history will not have been elected by the people.
More details
I would like to propose a democratic process for the public to elect David Cameron's successor from from the candidates that put themselves forward from within the conservative party.
This will allow for debate of the issues people feel are important in the negotiations and for the people to elect the candidate they feel best to conduct the negotiations on their behalf.
at the outset of this process a fixed timetable should be given including when article 50 will be enacted.
