Rejected petition The government should make it compulsory for cyclists to carry insurance.

Car drivers must be insured to cover liability for accidents they cause. Cyclists also cause accidents and should pay for any damage they cause. Furthermore they cannot be traced and are not road tested. Insurance would solve these problems as only registered tested cyclists might be insured.
