Rejected petition Openly offer asylum to the LGBT community in Chechnya

The Chechnyan government is actively persecuting the LGBT community removing them from their lives, and detaining using torture and killing people for the way they are born. As fellow human beings we should be doing all we can to protect people by openly offering them a safe place to live.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

In accordance with international obligations, a well-founded fear of persecution on account of sexual orientation or gender identity is already one of the grounds on which asylum can be granted. It is not clear what further action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

If you would like the UK Government to offer automatic asylum to LGBT people from Russia, you might like to sign this petition instead:
